Ms. Elizabeth T. Salon- English Depatment Chairman and Ms. Kerren Faith Paden- ST
I know you have heard this a lot before, but it is honestly normal to feel strongly for your teacher whether it is good or bad.. The first time I meet Ma’am Salon, I really have a feeling that she is unapproachable. She doesn’t even know that their school will be having a student teacher interns and that was why when I approached her, she seemed to be strict and she doent even want to talk to me maybe because she thought that I will be observing her class (which I know every teacher doesn’t like because they might lose their confidence..hahaha) When she knew that I was her student teacher intern, she laughs and she said “Hahahaha yehey naa nakoy katabang!” OMG I was really stunned.. Me??? Katabang?? Helper ?MAid? Servant? But I still remained calm because as I have known, she is the English department chairman. And I also heard that she is retiring soon… so understanding her attitude is what I prepared before meeting her. Weeks passed by, I get to know her. She has a very loud voice and I mentioned this in one of my reflections that you can really hear her voice from the SOE Lobby up to the second floor of the SC building! Not to exaggerate things but it is the truth and you can ask my colleagues about it. J weeks passed by, I started to appreciate her even if she gives harsh comments and I took it as a lesson. I am also thankful that I met her because she was also a Sendong survivor- we lived in the same place and it was in Balulang. We chitchat then about our survivor nights and we went back to our business. She was also a resourceful teacher and she was always on the go! Bravo Ma’am, Beth!
